Mike Tyson has a wealth of accomplishments under his belt. From boxing and fitness to an array of multimedia companies, the former undisputed heavyweight champion is currently trying something a bit different – he is entering the cannabis market.
Launching in Nevada next month with other legal states coming online soon, consumers can expect to see a variety of products containing both THC and CBD. Tyson Ranch plans to unveil everything from top-shelf flower and edibles, tinctures, celebrity specialty branded products, as well as real estate ventures which includes cannabis friendly resorts.
Tyson Ranch Branded Products:
Flower – Top-shelf, locally grown, indica, sativa and hybrid flower strains
Concentrates – Cannabis concentrates and tinctures
Edibles – Infused chocolates and gummies
CopperGel Ice – A topical analgesic gel infused with copper and CBD that is clinically proven for arthritis, joint and muscle pain relief.
Dwiink – THC infused sparkling soda
Chill – PH balanced, pure hemp-infused water
In addition to the Tyson Ranch products mentioned above, the group plans to launch a variety of CBD only products including CBD tinctures, vapes, lip balms, edibles and pet treats.
Tyson, who has consumed cannabis for years, wholeheartedly believes that it is the consumption of cannabis that has helped him overcome his addictions of the past. Tyson has stated in past interviews that “weed is the miracle drug of the future.” And today, he credits cannabis for helping him recover from the multitude of injuries he had sustained while boxing. Cannabis has also helped to calm his social anxiety and anger issues.
Hosting his first Health and Wellness Summit last year at The Ranch headquarters gave Tyson and other fellow professional sports figures the opportunity to bring light to the use of cannabis within sports. Joined by owners, team doctors and league managers, the room was filled with discontent with the intolerance of cannabis in sports. As one would expect, much of the talk centered around the use of opioids. Referencing the need for cannabis education, one professional team’s physician stated that “the opioid epidemic is reaching astronomical proportions and as physicians we need to learn, we need to better ourselves for our patients.” Tyson, like other athletes, has suffered his own addiction to prescription pain medications and he believes that cannabis has “been the great equalizer to the pain in his life.” The federal government has patented cannabinoids as neuroprotectants for a reason and these athletes deserve the right to heal naturally.
It was his personal experience with cannabis and his belief in the healing powers of the plant that led Tyson and his partners to break ground on the over 420 acre marijuana research and wellness center, Tyson Ranch in California. A portion of the space will be specifically for educational cannabis cultivation, but the rest will house a wellness center, holistic campground and amphitheatre. It is here that the Ranch will host the first ever Kind Festival on February 23rd, a one-day pop-up festival with music, food trucks, “Chillville” with 100 specialty bean bags, a fun zone with inflatable rides, vendors and bar area.

TYSON’S HIGH FIVE
VCM: When did you realize cannabis was medicine?
MT: In my 30’s, cannabis really saved me from myself. The health benefits were so clear. As it continued to save me, I knew that everyone needed this kind of medicine.
VCM: What is your favorite Tyson Ranch strain?
MT: Right now it’s Purple Punch, but I mix it up a lot. It’s hard to choose a favorite. We have so many good ones but I think people are moving that KO Kush right now. You can find it in Nevada next month.
VCM: What is your preferred method of consumption?
MT: I love Tyson Ranch pre-rolls. I smoke them daily. Edibles are good too. CBD during the day, THC at night. Keep it simple.
VCM: Your new cannabis ventures include a variety of aspects, what are you most excited about?
MT: Yea man, so much is happening at Tyson Ranch. I’m excited to bring the kind of healing I had to so many people. It’s an exciting time. Look out for TR products in Nevada dispensaries starting in March. The Ranch and KIND festival in Desert Hot Springs. I even have a joint venture with the largest CBD processors in America, it’s crazy man. I’ve been recording this podcast Hotboxin’ too. I get to hang out and chill smoke with the likes of; Diplo, Mike Epps, Steve-O, Dale Earnhardt Jr, the “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Milan and my old friend Roseanne Barr. Everyone’s been great, you should check it out on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, you know because we got a big line up coming up.
VCM: What can we expect from the upcoming Kind Festival?
MT: KIND is going to have great music and the kindest people. Miguel, Asap Ferg, Reese LaFlare, lots of amazing artists. KIND really is a celebration of California’s new Cannabis laws. It’s going to be awesome. www.kindmusicfestival.com
